You may notice a hard hat, ball, or even a pizza box in an enclosure, these are not trash. Animals which are used to covering many miles of territory in the wild need stimulation when confined to a small area. These are called enrichment items.
Our new Kestrel (hawk) is on exhibit.
Lots of school trips will keep the docents busy.

All of the animals in this zoo are either rescued or
captive born and cannot be released into the wild.
This site is matained by the Friends of the Living Desert, a non-profit organization
that provides support for the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens State Park.
